Fishtown neighbors rally against “business improvement” nonprofit for stealing family’s home

On January 12, a court hearing will determine whether the Fishtown Kensington Business Improvement District (BID) – better known as the Fishtown District – can legally take over a Frankford Ave row home from the family that has owned the property since___ using Act 135, a state law intended to reduce blight by allowing nonprofits to seize control of abandoned properties.
